STARTING THE DAY RIGHT
This morning myself and Barmak decided to get breakfast over at Gram & Papa’s. Barmak had the tortilla and egg breakfast and I had the veggie scramble with wheat toast and black beans on the side. No coffee for us this morning, strictly watermelon juice to start the day right.
REST IN PEACE STEVE JOBS
A true innovator and genius that helped shaped modern technology for the entire world. May you rest in peace.
THE LAFAYETTE BUTTON CREW
The Lafayette Button Crew is made of 100% cotton salt and pepper vintage knit french terry with a unique striped flat knit rib at the collar, cuffs and bottom. Like all of our garments, this piece is finished with a softener wash for that added feel and finish. Also, features pouch pockets and wooden buttons. I wore this piece last night and the fit is beyond great. I’ll definitely be wearing this throughout the Fall and Holiday season.
WEST ONE FC – FREEDOM SUITE.
This past Friday I went to check out the latest show by the legendary West titled “Freedom Suite.” at L.A’s Enviroment showroom.
West is a best known for his prolific work on NYC subway trains in the early 80′s and on to the early 90′s. West and his crew FC “Fame City” are a major influence in the NYC graffiti movement with their attention to letter structure and the concept driven production murals that is now a standard for graffiti murals worldwide.
Since 2001 West started to do more abstract pieces, a slight depart from the traditional form and mediums required in graffiti thus creating a new language that still embodies the essence that is West.
BURLESQUE ALL STARS
When Miss Dakota Ferreiro reached out to me and asked if I would take pictures of her troop, The Burlesque All Stars, I had one answer, “Oh, hell yea!!”
I spent most of Tuesday afternoon surrounded by some of the most beautiful, talented and nicest ladies I’ve ever met.
We decided to shoot at the historical Janes House, which is located on Hollywood Blvd between Hudson and Whitley. The house is an old Victorian cottage built in 1903. The dark wood floors and red velvet upholstered furniture provided a great backdrop for the shoot. We allowed the natural light to bring vibrance to the place and give the photos that classic feel and look. It was an honor to do this project for the ladies and to be a part of it.
Be on the look out for The Burlesque All Stars and their upcoming shows.
TANGIER KOREAN BBQ OF TOKYO
This past weekend, I decided to go check out the Tangier Korean BBQ Of Tokyo in Los Feliz. As soon as you walk in you know you’re about to be in for a great time. We are immediately welcomed by the not only the host, but also by a life size robots straight out of some Japanese anime. The vibe in the place is upbeat, fun and the service is A+.
We decided to go with the all you can eat BBQ. It includes a bottle of hot Sake and your choices of chicken, Harami beef, Kalbi beef , Pork and mixed veggies. On the side you get mash potatoes, cucumbers, kimchi, sesame sauce and soy sauce. There’s also Sushi on the menu as well.
The food was well beyond what we expected, this is definitely a place that we’ll be going back to very soon…

AMERICAN CRAFTSMANSHIP
As buildings began to go vertically higher in the 19th century, it became apparent that it would be better to have a system of collecting mail within the skyscrapers. A gentleman by the name of James G. Cutler designed and manufactured the first mail chute. These mail chutes and letterboxes were made of steel and brass with extreme attention to detail without sacrificing functionality.
Our building is over 100 years old and it has one of Mr James G. Cutler’s letterbox systems, which is still fully functional. We walk past this beautiful piece of American craftsmanship everyday and it’s unfortunate that we seldom use it. The standard letters is almost extinct but, no matter what, your email inbox does not look this fresh.
