WORD FROM THE GENIUS
I just came across this rare footage of the GZA, RZA and ODB on a public access show promoting GZA’s debut album, Words From The Genius, back in 1991. GZA spit an ill little freestyle at the end with ODB holding down the beat box. They even mention ODB getting down as the dancer of the group. Not long after this interview, these cats architected a movement that had a tremendous impact on not only hip hop but millions of people across the globe. Footage like this is always inspiring as it takes me back to a time when hip hop was larger than life to me. I’m still trying to find that feeling again….Props to J-Zone for diggin’ this up.
